Lounge sofa: the low seat that invites you to do nothing

Some sofas are made for entertaining, others for sinking into. The lounge sofa embraces the second mission: a low (38 cm), deep, enveloping all-foam seat where you settle in sideways, legs tucked up, head resting on the reclined backrest. The Mira line revives the spirit of the iconic 1970s low chairs, with no rigid frame and no legs, and adds the Laneora signature: compressed delivery in a surprisingly compact box.

What exactly is a lounge sofa?

Unlike a classic sofa (42-45 cm seat, upright backrest), the lounge sofa is built for relaxing: a lower, deeper seat, a reclined backrest, organic shapes. It is the feel-good sofa, the one for Sunday reading and evening box sets. The term covers one-seater low chairs, low 2-3 seaters and occasional lounge chairs.

Armchair, 2-seater or 3-seater?

The Mira armchair (87 cm) creates an instant reading corner. Mira Duo (131 cm) brings relaxation for two to compact living rooms. Mira Trio (174 cm) becomes the centrepiece of a cosy lounge. All three share the same high-density compressed foam and removable covers washable at 30 °C, in seven colours.

Who is it for, and which room?

The lounge line excels in TV rooms, reading corners, master bedrooms and mezzanines: anywhere you want to sink in rather than sit up straight. With no legs and no hard edges, it is very family-friendly: children climb on it, pets curl up on it, the cover goes in the machine. One thing to bear in mind: its low seat takes a little effort to get up from; if that matters, the Nora sofa beds offer a more classic seat height.

Lounge or cloud sofa?
